The English edition of the German Handelsblatt published an article showing that Germany was, by the end of 2016, the leading breaker of EU rules:
The German author of the article concludes: "The country, which has lectured debt sinners like Greece, performs worst in complying with European Union legislation. Physician, heal thyself!"

ReplyDeleteWho cares?!
ReplyDeleteRules and consequences exist only for those not powerful enough to avoid them.
Those who can, miss no opportunity to bring them up and ardently defend them, the very same moment they bend and reshape them to better serve their interests, all the while vocally expressing their indignation that one would even think that they would have done so.
Isn't this what (German) history teach us?
Or perhaps these statistics are only meant for internal consumption, i.e. as a scare-gun against unruly locals who won't stop raising demands for a greater piece of the big fat German pie…
In any case, it doesn't mean much for Greeks or any others.
